Studija tiesiog nenorėjo taip rizikuoti, nes ankstesnis filmas, kurio biudžetas be reklamos siekė 130 milijonų, atnešė kažkiek nuostolių, užsidirbdamas visame pasaulyje vos 273 milijonus dolerių. Laikas bėgo, kalbos tęsėsi, bet taip niekas nieko ir nedarė. Kol galiausiai, 2018 metais, studija „ Sony “ sugrįžo prie šios idėjos įgyvendinimo ir nusprendė skirti 90 milijonų dolerių visai žaliems bičams, kurie pažadėjo sukurti bene geriausią serijos filmą. Ir, žinot, jie nemelavo. Režisūriškai ir scenariškai – tai geriausia trilogijos dalis. Filmas turi kelias neblogas temas, kurias režisieriai įdomiai gvildena dvi rodymo valandas. Viena iš jų – šeimos vertybės ir garbingas senėjimas. Apie tai filme yra nemažai juokelių, todėl tenka priprast, kad net ir kažkada jauni Markusas su Maiku pasiekia solidų amžių ir jie apie tai reguliariai primena savo pokalbiuose. Kita tema – draugystė ir jos apraiškos. Man ši tema patiko labiausiai, nes būtent šiame trečiame filme vyrukų draugystė pateikiama ne tik itin dramatiškai, bet ir labai prasmingai. To, deja, nebuvo galima pasakyti apie pirmas dvi dalis, kuriose jie atrodė tik kaip porininkai, bet ne kaip artimi bičiuliai. Nes jeigu tu geri alų draugo baseine, nereiškia, kad tu esi labai didelis jo draugas. Tai vien tik ekspozicija, kuria turi patikėti žiūrovas, bet tai neįvyksta. Čia yra visai kitokia situacija. Tu tiki jų ryšiu, kuris neapsiriboja vien jų darbo specifika. Humoro filme pilna. Jis kandus, jis juokingas, jis priverčia nuoširdžiai jausti nostalgiją Markusui ir Maikiui. Tad šiuo atveju, filmo scenaristai pasidarbavo išties puikiai, nes visi juokeliai turėjo ir prasmės, ir jie buvo įterpti į rodomą kontekstą išties tvarkingai, o ne tam, kad tiesiog ekrane pasirodytų koks nors „bajeriukas“, nes to reikia. Be juokingos dalies, juosta gali pasigirti ir smagiu veiksmu, kurį papuošia brutalūs vaizdai. Nejuokauju, čia yra keli tokie epizodai, kad jie be problemų galėtų varžytis ir su pačiais kruviniausiais siaubo trileriais. Vienu žodžiu, peržiūros metu liūdna ir nuobodu tikrai nebus. Kalbant apie Markuso ir Maiko personažus, tai jie kažkiek evoliucionavo ir pasikeitė išoriškai, bet tai vis dar tokie patys kieti ir šmaikštus vyrai, kuriuos mes pamėgome 1995 metais pasirodžiusioje pirmoje serijos dalyje. Kas nustebino, tai pagrindinis blogietis, kuris turi gerą motyvaciją, o jo veiksmai yra ganėtinai įdomiai pateikti. Tai ne stereotipinis pirmų filmų blogiukas, o žymiai rimtesnis priešas, su kuriuo geriau nejuokauti. Ir, kas be ko, mano nuomone, tai geriausias serijoje antagonistas. Jis vienintelis toks, kuris gali susprogdinti popieriaus lapą ir tai atrodys velniškai kietai. Na, o prie geros muzikos, pridedamas ir geras garso montažas, kuris paryškina kiekvieną grojamą gabalą. Vaizdo montažas taip pat nenuvilia. Flmo storija sudėliota labai tvarkingai ir neprailgtančiai, nors jo trukmė dvi valandos. Dėl to gaunama kino salėje pramoga yra dar malonesnė. Aktorių kolektyvinis darbas Sakoma, kad laikas yra negailestingas. Tačiau tik ne šiuo atveju, nes penkiasdešimtmetis Willas Smithas į kaulus duoda ne ką prasčiau nei perpus jaunesni vyrukai. O ir jo išvaizda beveik nepasikeitė nuo paskutinės „Pašėlusių vyrukų“ dalies pasirodymo kinuose. Tai toks pat žvalus, šmaikštus ir kietas bičas, kuris užkrečia savo pozityvia energija kiekvieną kartą jam pasirodžius ekrane. Ir vien dėl to labai didelis jam ačiū. Užtat ganėtinai pasikeitė Martinas Lawrence‘as, kurio nepagailėjo ne laikas, o pensija. Paskutinį kartą jis intensyviai dirbo 2014 metais, o po to tiesiog dingo iš ekranų ir tik 2019 metais sugrįžo į didįjį kiną filme „Pajūrio šlaistūnas“, kuriame atliko epizodinį vaidmenį. Abu aktoriai kaip ir anksčiau spinduliuoja žavesiu, o jų tandemas turi tiek pat daug geros chemijos kaip ir prieš septyniolika metų, kai kinuose buvo rodoma antroji serijos dalis. Ir taip, jiems neprilygsta nei vienas kitas antraplanis aktorius. Kas dėl kitų filme pasirodžiusių žmonių, tai ryškiausiai iš jų atrodė senbuvis Joe Pantoliano ir keli naujokai – Vanessa Hudgens, Alexanderis Ludwigas ir blogietį įkūnijęs Jacobas Scipio. Pastarasis tiesa suvaidino geriausią trilogijoje antagonistą, dėl ko jam atskiri komplimentai. Verdiktas „Pašėlę vyrukai amžiams“ – neįtikėtinai geras ikoniško dueto sugrįžimas į kino ekranus po ilgų septyniolikos metų nuo antrosios dalies pasirodymo. Im cautiously optimistic it will match our 12 million prediction with a little room to spare. January 23rd, 2020 It is a post-holiday weekend and the weekend before the Super Bowl. Needless to say, there are no prime releases coming out in theaters. The Gentlemen is the widest release of the week a should open in the top five, even if it doesnt compete for top spot. The Turning is a low-budget horror movie, and weve already had one of those struggle at the box office this year. Theres little hope this one will be better. Finally, theres The Last Full Measure, which is only opening nationwide, not even semi-wide. Its not even going to make the top ten, so we will talk about that film with the other limited releases. This leaves Bad Boys for Life as the only real contender for first place this weekend. The question is more about how far it falls from last weekend. As for this weekend last year, we were in a similar situation with the two new releases, The Kid Who Would Be King and Serenity, failing to make any real impact, leaving Glass in first place for the second weekend in a row. The Upside was the only other film to earn more than 10 million that weekend, while this weekend we will have four, perhaps even five films above 10 million. 2020 should walk away with an easy win. It depends on the films legs and how much the Sequel Effect shortens its legs. I remain cautiously optimistic about the films chances. January 16th, 2020 Its the first long weekend of the year and we have two films that are hoping to take advantage of MLK Day to get off to a fast start at the box office. Bad Boys for Life does have the advantage in terms of reviews and hype, not to mention a much more reasonable production budget. Dolittle is an early contender for worst movie of 2020. It also cost 175 million to make, so if it doesnt make at least 100 million domestically, then it is practically guaranteed to lose a ton of money for Universal. This weekend last year, Glass earned first place with 40 million over the three-day weekend. Ive seen some predictions that have Bad Boys for Life earning less than that over the four-day weekend, but Ive also seen some predictions that would top the 48-million MLK long weekend opening record. 2020 does have better depth, so the years short winning streak shouldnt come to an end just yet. January 1st, 2020 Its the year 2020, the year where we find out how many times you can say, “Well, hindsight is 20/20. ” before you get punched. On the positive side, while December wasnt a great month, it was good enough to help 2019 end on a positive note, a positive note that should continue into January. There are no real potential monster hits coming out this month, but there are three films that have a real shot at 100 million domestically. These are, in alphabetical order, 1917, which will rely on Awards Season to get to the century mark.
